Emergency Jigsaw Puzzle, Hook & Ladder 1975 Television Show

19 April 2012

Do you remember watching the Emergency tv show years ago? I do.  It began in 1972 and ran through 1979…the year I graduated from high school. Episodes are still available online on Hulu.

I will not be listing this puzzle on eBay even though it is complete. Some of the pieces are very worn and this title doesn’t seem to be selling for much anyway.  It is a fun jigsaw puzzle so I will put it in my resale booth in hopes that a fan of the show will want it even though there are some worn pieces.

Lovely Jo Wall Bygone Summer Jigsaw Puzzle Is Complete

2 April 2012

The Bygone Summer puzzle is complete – and very pretty. I hope the new owner enjoys it as much as we did. It is always fun to find one of Josephine Wall’s older used puzzles with all of the pieces. The box was in rough shape so I had my doubts about this one. It is one of my favorite Jo Wall images, so I am very glad it turned out to be complete. Happy puzzling!

Working Grandmothers Hat Jigsaw Puzzle by Josephine Wall

18 January 2012

Another interesting puzzle for my drafting table – lets hope it is complete. This is the last  jigsaw puzzle from the stack of open ones.  So far we have had 2 complete and 1 incomplete.

Josephine Wall is one of my favorite artists, so it will be a disappointment if there are any missing pieces.  I have my doubts because the pieces were not in a bag. Wish me luck!

Vintage Springbok Puzzle, Missing Pieces, Interesting Faces

11 January 2012

You may remember that I bought three vintage Springbok puzzles in neat old round boxes. The first two, Alice in Wonderland and a horse image, were complete and are already in their new homes, but the third puzzle is missing some edge pieces. I do not sell incomplete jigsaw puzzles, so this one will not be listed. I will be using the pieces for some type of interesting cards or tags as I am fascinated by the faces in the artwork. The box is a conversation piece for a shelf in my office. I just had to share!

Josephine Wall Crystals & Candlelight Jigsaw Puzzle on eBay

10 January 2012

I haven’t been very consistent with my penny starting bid auctions for quite some time, but will do much better in 2012.  New year, fresh starts!

This Crystals & Candlelight jigsaw puzzle has glitter highlights and many fun details. Josephine Wall is a wonderful fantasy and fairy artist.

I like to offer opened boxes at bargain prices. I don’t offer puzzles unless I have reason to think they are complete. (I almost always sell factory sealed boxes.) These puzzle pieces are still in the sealed bag, so it is complete. Maybe one of you will enjoy putting this puzzle together this winter!

Josephine Wall Blue Moon Borders Puzzle Auction

20 December 2011

It didn’t seem to make sense to run auctions this past week. People shopping for gifts needed the buy it now option. I didn’t want auctions ending too close to Christmas either.

Well, it’s time to get the auctions going again. I have some unique puzzles to list between now and the end of the year, but I started off with an item that I have offered before. (I am a bit tired from all the holiday shipping and cookie baking, so it will take a few days for me to write the new listings.)

The penny starting bid for this Josephine Wall Borders puzzle may be your chance to get this puzzle at a great price!

Vintage Alice in Wonderland puzzle is complete!

28 July 2011

Several months ago I opened a vintage Alice in Wonderland jigsaw puzzle, hoping it was complete.  I shared  this photograph of the worn box full of loose pieces.

Soon after laying the pieces out on our old drafting table we discovered two pieces that did not belong, so we were a bit worried. It made us feel better when the border was assembled.

I apologize to those of you that have been checking back for Alice updates. It should not have taken this long to assemble one puzzle. I admit that my husband actually did most of the work for me or it would still be a work in progress.

Alice’s Adventures Under Ground is complete and in lovely condition. I am excited to share the finished results!

Springbok made some interesting puzzles in the 1960′s that are quite a bit different than what we find on store shelves today. I think this is one of their best.

Aspen Wolf Jigsaw Puzzle eBay penny auction

22 June 2011

Wolves Jigsaw Puzzle Wildlife Aspen Wolf New Open Box

This is one of my favorite puzzle images. I posted it as a penny auction last night.

It’s my way of offering a good deal to my customers – and drawing attention to my eBay store, too.

My penny auctions are often for items that I have plenty of. I give my item extra visibility by listing with a penny opening bid and hopefully sell some of the buy it now listings while the auction is running.

Sometimes my penny auctions are for items that are one of a kind or less than perfect. This puzzle is new, but the box has been opened. The inside puzzle bag is sealed, so the puzzle is new and unused. Someone will get a good deal on a great puzzle!

Alice in Wonderland jigsaw puzzle, border complete!

16 March 2011

I promised an update on the progress of my 1965 Alice in Wonderland puzzle.  It was great to find all of the border pieces.  I am very optimistic about this puzzle being complete now that the circle edge is done.

Are you working on any interesting projects?  What do you plan to do with yours when it is finished?  This one will be admired here for awhile and then sold.

Alice’s Adventures Under Ground, vintage round puzzle

3 March 2011

I have an interesting jigsaw puzzle to put together.  A round Alice in Wonderland puzzle dated 1965 with wording from the original Lewis Carroll manuscript.  The box has been beat up a bit and the puzzle may not be complete…so I have a fun new puzzle project on my drafting table.

I figure it will take me several weeks to assemble Alice and her under ground adventures.  Those of you that are serious about your puzzles could have it done today if you wanted to, but this will be a side project for me to work on a few minutes a day.  Right now it is just a box of orange and black pieces waiting for my attention.

I am optimistic about Alice’s Adventures because it is one of three vintage Springbok puzzles found together.  The Okta horse puzzle was assembled earlier this winter and is complete.  The third puzzle is more abstract and will be a challenge for me, so I am putting it off until last.

This one is my favorite of the three.  If it is complete I will list it in my eBay store…if not, I will keep it and enjoy the box on display in my home office.  (My office is decorated with a mix of children’s books and puzzles.)

I plan to start with the outside edge pieces and assemble the outside circle before I fill in the rest.  If you have any puzzling tips – please share.  We can all learn from each other.
