Life’s a joy ride. Unfortunately, I’m tied to the bumper!
Just sharing a little coffee cup humor that made me laugh out loud.

Postage rates increased Sunday, April 17th. I went to the usps website for details. I found what they call “A convenient listing of our domestic and international prices and fees.” I am sharing the link with you, but I would hesitate to call a 52 page document convenient.
I ship books every week, so I am especially interested in the Media Mail increase.
Though First Class did not increase for the regular one ounce letters, the second ounce does cost more now. Be careful if you are mailing your tax return today. You do not want it coming back to you because of postage due instead of making it to the IRS on time!
The annual Boone County Quilt Show is a week from Saturday. If you haven’t already made plans to attend, please do. It is sure to be a great show with many quilts on display for all to admire.
We are only one of many vendors that will be set up. We will be selling books, quilting magazines, handmade goods, fabric, and miscellaneous sewing related items.
The show is Saturday, April 30th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds in the Witham Health Services Pavilion. The address is 1300 E 100 S (Interstate 65N, Exit 138) Lebanon, Indiana.
You can find more information on their facebook page. If you look at their events page you will see the catering information as well as links to all of the vendors that will be attending. If you need supplies to create your own sewing or quilting projects, or if you want to see some lovely quilts; this is the place to be on April 30th.
I wasn’t able to get permission to share any photographs from past shows, but you can see many beautiful quilts that they have posted.
We hope to see you there!

Today it occurred to me that even though many things are exactly what they seem…the potential is not always evident until I take a closer look. A lot of details may blend in when I stay at a distance.
Take this rather ugly bush-like tree outside my kitchen window for example.

The signs of life didn’t really show until I made the effort to step outside.

And the real beauty wasn’t at all evident until I focused on the details.

Then I saw something that I had completely forgotten. Someone lives back there!

I enjoy reading blogs, but sometimes-like today-my poor little brain is just full of words and I just look at the pictures. Today I am admiring the silent blog post by Elegant KB.
Spring is in the air. It was a long cold winter and I feel like a dusty house plant. I want to get outside and breathe the fresh (pollinated) air. I have made plans for each day this weekend. Plans that include my family but do NOT include sitting at my desk.
I have been using internet tools to work ahead so my business and networking continues while I am away for hours at a time.
I am literally in two places at once, thanks to the Internet. And yes, dinner is in the crock pot.
