Looking Out For Work-at-Home Scams
I came across an interesting article today on Today at MSNBC’s web site.

The article entitled “Too good to be true! Skirt work-at-home scams – In a down economy, con artists are tricking people who need extra income” by Laura T. Coffey was very eye opening. It is an article that talks about the pitfalls that you need to be aware of when considering a work-from-home scheme. They gave an example about a man who is a retired professor and a software engineer who was caught in a minor scam from the Las Vegas based online company Google Money Tree. You would think that someone with this guys creds would not fall for a scam, but he did. That means that all of the rest of us less well educated could stand to be on high alert when it comes to protecting ourselves from the con men out there who want to separate us from our hard earned paychecks any way they can. The author of the article gives 10 good ways to keep from falling prey to these tricks. I especially liked tip number 9 which gave positive ideas on where to look for real work-at-home oportunities.
I have to give great kudos to my wife Leah because I think she is the smartest online user I think I have ever seen. She can spot spoof email and web pages a mile away. I am in awe of her ability and I have learned alot about how to not be so gullible when I see something that looks legit.
Bottom line folks? Be aware of the scams. Don’t do anything that can potentially take money out of your pocket without first checking on the company or opportunity.
Happy Living!
